High-Yield Checking (HYC)

High-Yield Checking (HYC) appeals to members who are primarily focused on only one particular checking feature - the highest possible dividend (interest) rate. This minimum-frills checking account pays dividends based on your monthly net debit card spending - the more you use your debit card for purchases, the higher your dividend rate will be for the month.

High-Yield Checking is the perfect option for members looking for the highest possible dividend rate!

You Set Your Dividend Rate

The actual spending tier you reach each month will determine the matching tier dividend rate used to calculate dividends on your average daily balance (ADB) for the month, up to the maximum "cap" balance, currently $30,000. See the monthly debit card spending tiers below. You can view rates here.

  • Tier 1: $750.01 - $1,500
  • Tier 2: $1,500.01 - $2,500
  • Tier 3: $2,500.01 - $5,000
  • Tier 4: $5,000.01+

You're in control of your dividend destiny - simply use your debit cards for purchases and expenses whenever you can to reach the highest possible spending tier each month. Use this convenient High-Yield Checking Monthly Debit Spend Calculator to help you determine which tier you may already qualify for, and which tier you may be able to reach by using your debit card more!

There is a minimum $100 deposit needed to open an account and a monthly fee will apply if debit card spending doesn't reach at least Tier 1 each month.
