Quick Strike Offers for ITCU Members Light Up Inboxes

A flash of light. A bolt of lightning. An eye-catching event. Common occurrences during a storm, sure, but these are also Blue and Purple Quick Strike Logo with parts of a Quick Strike*, the newest opportunity for ITCU members to enjoy special offers for a limited time!

From deposit products never before made available, to discounted rates on loans, and more, Quick Strikes can encompass a variety of offers only ITCU members can enjoy. But how do members know when an offer is happening and when they can enjoy it?

Simple; just look for the lightning image above – Quick Strikes are announced via email and may not last long. By clicking the Quick Strike logo in the link provided in the email, or the icon you’ll see on the ITCU home page, you’ll be taken to a landing page (which will always start with “itcu.org”) with full details so you can “strike quickly” before the offer vanishes.

Lightning may not strike twice in the same place, but we have plans for many Quick Strikes in the coming months. If you’re not receiving our emails, contact our Member Care team at (800) 337-3328, option 5, to opt into our emails to be alerted for the next Quick Strike. Be quick and be ready, because you never know when a Quick Strike may occur

Paydays Now Come Early for ITCU Members!

The InTouch motto has long been “working for you and your financial well-being.” That has been, and will remain, our goal, but we are pleased to announce that we have recently made a change with the purpose of making that financial well-being even easier to attain. All electronic payroll or government deposits will now post to your ITCU account up to two days early, whenever you receive a payment!

Best of all, there’s no forms to complete, nothing to sign and there is no cost; it is simply a benefit InTouch wants to pass along to our membership! In fact, if you have electronic deposits going to another financial institution, now could be the perfect time to move them to ITCU and get access to your money sooner!

‘Tis the Season for Holiday Club Funds

The end-of-year holiday season always brings a lot of excitement to look forward to, and for our Holiday Club members, the festivities start even earlier: on Monday, November 1, 2021, all Holiday Club funds will be available for your use!

If you’ve got a shopping list and you’ve checked it twice, your Holiday Club savings can help you cross those items off!

And, if you would like to get a head start on next year’s seasonal savings opportunity, you can begin contributing to your 2022 Holiday Club account on Monday, November 1, too! New Fee Changes Now in Effect

As of Friday, October 1, 2021, a number of new fee changes are now in effect. See below or reach out to our Member Care team, at (800) 337-3328, or contact us online if you have any questions or concerns:

  • Insufficient funds (NSF) fee was $35.00, now $0.00
  • A one-time, incoming, ACH loan payment through the ITCU.org website was $10.00, now $5.00
  • Courtesy Pay fee was $35.00, now $10.00
  • Paper statement fee of $5.00 will be assessed on all active or inactive (dormant) accounts, unless the avg. deposit balance or month-end loan balances are greater than $50,000.00, or the account owner is younger than 18 years of age.
  • Check cashing fee for an on us check for a non-member is $4.00. (We do not cash non-ITCU checks for non-members.)

Should I Accept My Employer’s Early Retirement Offer?

The right answer for you will depend on your situation. First of all, don’t underestimate the psychological impact of early retirement. The adjustment from full-time work to a more leisurely pace may be difficult for you. So, ask yourself if you’re ready to retire yet.

Next, look at what you’re being offered. Most early retirement offers share certain basic features that need to be evaluated. To decide if your employer’s offer is worth taking, you’ll want to break it down.

Does the offer include a severance package? If so, how does the package compare with your projected job earnings (including future salary raises and bonuses) if you remained employed? Can you live on that amount (and for how long) without tapping into your retirement savings? If not, is your retirement fund large enough that you can start using it early? Will you be penalized for withdrawing from your retirement plans?

Does the offer include post-retirement medical insurance? If not, you may have to look into COBRA or a private individual policy. Private insurance can be expensive, depending on your health and other factors. You also may shop for and purchase an individual health insurance policy through either a state-based or federal health insurance Exchange Marketplace.

If your employer’s offer includes medical insurance, make sure it’s affordable and provides adequate coverage. Also, since Medicare doesn’t start until you’re 65, make sure your employer’s coverage lasts until you reach that age.

How will accepting the offer affect your retirement plan benefits? If your employer has a traditional pension plan, leaving the company before normal retirement age (usually 65) may greatly reduce the final payout you receive from the plan. If you participate in a 401(k) plan, what price will you pay for retiring early? You could end up forfeiting employer contributions that you’re not yet vested in. You’ll also be missing out on the opportunity to make additional contributions to the plan.
